Our Founder, Bruce W. Derrick, began his business career in the banking industry, then transitioned into the commercial real estate business in 1974 and eventually founding the development firm Derrick Interests, Inc. (DI) soon after. Over the past forty years, DI has successfully developed and acquired more than 1.5 million square feet of retail and industrial properties, primarily in the greater Houston and Atlanta MSA areas.
The company currently owns and manages a diverse portfolio of properties with more than 100 tenants, including regional and national names such as Starbucks, T-Mobile, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, DaVita, Fresenius, Quest Diagnostics, Spec's Liquor, Auto Zone, Dollar Tree, Baskin Robbins, Subway, Wells Fargo & more.
